Luncheon in Honor of Marcie Eskin June 23, 2025

Marcie Eskin is named the 2025 Fanny Goldstein Merit Award Winner
Come Celebrate With Us!

Marcie Eskin is the Association of Jewish Libraries 2025 Fanny Goldstein Merit Award winner! The award, named for the librarian, social activist, and founder of National Jewish Book Month, recognizes ongoing contributions to the Association and to Judaica librarianship.

A synagogue librarian for more than 25 years, Marcie has served Beth El since 2010 managing our library’s catalog and circulation, curating museum exhibits, coordinating adult education, helping with children’s High Holiday services and so much more. She is also the librarian at Beth Hillel Bnai Emunah in Wilmette and worked at the BJE in Northbrook. Marcie is a past president of our local AJL Chapter, taught a course on cataloging, and reviews children’s books. She serves as the AJL Conference registrar, and will co-chair the 2026 conference in Evanston next summer with Rachel Kamin.

Marcie will receive her award on Monday, June 23 during this year’s AJL digital conference. We are no longer accepting reservations for lunch but you can still support our Maxwell Abbell Library Fund in Marcie's honor.
